Ghana Tax Brackets 2026

Ghana Tax Brackets — 2026

Here is a breakdown of the 2026 personal income tax brackets for Ghana, shown in GHS.

Taxable income Rate
₵0 – ₵171,600 6.6%
₵171,600 – ₵686,400 12.6%
₵686,400 – ₵1,480,000 18.6%
₵1,480,000 – ₵2,840,000 24.6%
₵2,840,000 – ₵3,600,000 30%
Over ₵3,600,000 30%

How brackets work

A progressive bracket system only taxes the portion of income that falls inside each band at that band's rate — not your entire income at the top rate you reach. For example, if the first ₵171,600 of income is taxed at a lower rate, only income above that threshold is taxed at the next rate up.

Worked example: ₵1,480,000 income

  • ₵0–₵171,600 at 6.6% → ₵11,326
  • ₵171,600–₵686,400 at 12.6% → ₵64,865
  • ₵686,400–₵1,480,000 at 18.6% → ₵147,610
  • Total estimated tax: ₵223,800 (15.1% effective rate)

This is the estimated tax before any deductions or credits are applied — see the deductions guide for what could lower this further. Run your own numbers with the calculator above to see exactly how much of your income falls into each bracket.

Always verify current-year brackets with Ghana's tax authority before filing.
